CHECKLIST FOR MOVING

As you assume ownership of your new home, use this list to make sure you've made all the necessary arrangements.

Change of Address Forms

• forwarding address at Post Office
• new address on bank accounts, ID and credit cards etc.

Insurance

• arrange for coverage in new location for all types of insurance (auto, health, life insurance)

Utilities, Services

• transfer gas, light, water, telephone, internet, cable, garbage, subscriptions etc collection accounts, newspaper, laundry (may include refunds on deposits)

If relocating to a new city or long distance...

• get referrals and necessary records from doctors and dentists
• transfer bank funds and credit references in a new city -check regulations affecting your pets (licenses, shots, tags)

Physical Considerations

• service appliances, clean rugs and carpets
• defrost and clean freezer and refrigerator -don't forget special needs for children and pets
• arrange moving details, insurance, labor costs
